Exercise mom to body coerce your better mental health

Maya Angelou quote on being a mom

Exercise mom to help a whole host of other lifestyle helping ailments, but also know when exercising isn’t necessary. Listening to our own inner knowledge, of when to exercise mom and when to keep those ‘must exercise’ ego reigns held tight, at guiding us on our mom journey ahead, is key to find fitness flow and freedom.

How do I have time to exercise as a mom

Its tough huh the mind says, to find time to exercise with kids, have you seen everything else us mum’s gotta do. But i’m gonna let you into a wee secret,

You’ve got to find time to exercise.

If you find exercising challenging, start becoming more aware of how you feel when you do exercise.

Why exercise as a mama

Exercise and diet as a mom, can improve these areas more positively;

  • Sleeping Pattern
  • Eating Routine
  • What we want to eat
  • What we choose to eat
  • Bowel Movements
  • Skin Complexion
  • Reaction Button
  • Mood levels
  • Weight loss and gain

Working out embraces the lightness in life, coz let’s be honest ladies, there’s way too much negativity in the world, to be adding to it!

Exercising as a mom, can help you glow on the outside to the three hour sleep teething fortnightly, ‘suck it up’ mindset.

When I choose not to exercise.

When do I not exercise

As much as I love to find time to exercise mom.

I am also aware of how important it is not to exercise when the milestones of necessities are not overflowing.

What I mean by that is, if my basic needs aren’t being met. AKA not sleeping properly and i’m feeling like a drunken sailor. I am not putting my body that needs me to listen to her, through any more unnecessary stress.

Sleeps as important as exercising for your body.

First few years especially nearing the end of pregnancy onwards, us moms lack quality sleep!

Looking after your needs as a mum, on whatever day you find yourself experiencing, in the first few years of babies life from pregnancy onwards, is vital.

It can take you on a body boundary breaking, journey of,

Oh my god why Am I still awake at 9pm! I only got 3 hours sleep last night!

Being gentle and kind with our thoughts towards our accomplishments of that day, however big or small they are. Can help in supporting you plant those positive mental seeds that are medicine for our mental sanctuary.

By seeing it as a lesson we continually grow out from. It can encourage you to nurture good mental habits as you spread your wings into motherhood, more lovingly.

I swap excuse for reason.

There’s so many reasons why I can’t exercise mom especially when we have babies at home.

But what reasons are there long term for me to exercise mom more?

Reasons why I exercise mom

Our why has to be bigger than our why not. I work out most days and smoothie as a busy mom because of how much better I feel for it.

Im a single mom, my brother lives in Australia, my parents live 2 hours away, my immediate family is spread.

Thankfully got a good tribe of great friends in the city and met some new marvellous moms friends too.

Having my health is freaking important to me, to be at my best in my mama role. I spoke about this in confessions of a single mom

Being fit, healthy and strong in finding time to exercise, helps me feel calmer and content, when changing the 9th nappy before lunch time.

Exercise supports my mood better throughout the day, to react in a lighter way, to the coconut being massaged into my babies face.

Exercise mom and the foods I choose to eat, nourish so many other health benefits. Mentally, physically, emotionally, that when it’s not present, I can notice the missing link.

I genuinely feel better about myself when I exercise.

But at the same time, if i’ve not slept properly for a few nights straight, exercise does not become a priority.

You’ll find me tearful and debilitated by this sleep deprivation challenge, partly exacerbated by dysarthria.

Each stage and age is different for us all.

However different we are in our approach of our reaction. We as mothers share similar situations, through the developmental phases. Which I hope bind us towards like minded mums, for flourishing in our direction. In which help us in our ‘mum role’ grow further with our mum olive branch.

Testing teething times

Teething times of testing us is tough in the first few years and can turn days/weeks upside down.

Fun fact: did you know each tooth takes on average 2 weeks to come through.

There’s a reason why sleep deprivation is used as a torture tool.

I remember going to visit the health care nurse and Sebalicious was two years old. I’d not had a full nights sleep in eleven days. The thought of exercising was definitely not on my radar and going outside, overwhelmed me mentally.

We walked the 1.5 miles to the health centre. Here’s the trick as a mum too find time to exercise. By walking and cycling you are exercising.

Incorporating ‘exercise mom’ into your day subconsciously, rather than actually getting on a mat or going to the gym, can enable you to still be able to exercise around your day. In a proactive, productive, time management way.

It is a very subtle and different mindset approach to exercise.

So back to the story, as we entered the healthcare’s office, it was obvious i’d not been sleeping properly. Sebalicious was teething at the time, with his beetroot bright, rosey, cute, chubby cheeks.

I asked her how long children teeth for? tired tears in my eyes.

Because by this point I really felt we were nearing the end, and was pressing for a hopeful answer.

She replied with a reassuringly smile,

Up to three years!

I just burst from fatigue with a wild cackle.

This in turn made her laugh and she gave me a cuddle and said,

“Your doing an amazing job being his mum, look after you to”

It’s a phrase that has stuck and I use regularly when teaching and writing.

As a mum, we need to be ok. Mentally, physically and emotionally, to look after your baby as best we can.

This is why mums olive branch is so important.

Mom exercise peer pressure

Have you see the blogs out there, putting pressure on other mums to,

Stop making excuses to not work out, I have three kids.

So much pressure as a mum these days to have it all and

The only person who had me all, for the first three years postnatally, was my baby.

I was constantly pigeon holing priorities, asking myself very gently in my morning meditation, in that quiet stillness

What do I really need to do today, and what can wait?

Being very mindful as to what really matters in my life nurtured me to exercise differently as a mom.

Having awareness of what a blessing it is to have this small, shared window of time together. Before life grows out and that time is gone, mattered to me, as a mom.

Exercising around this was key.

From the tiredness to the teething, to the tantrums, to the non stop running and talking.

I’m going to remind you of my wee secret, you’ve got to find time to exercise mom.
